Onitsha Massacre Details: Biafrans MURDERED for carrying mere flyers. "Order from above".

Sunday 30th August has been described as a Black Sunday for Biafrans. It was a day over 30 Biafran evangelising for Biafra Independence in Onitsha were shot by a combined team of Nigeria Navy, Army and Police. Three persons have been reported dead with many others, severely wounded are still at the hospital.

The incident happened when the unarmed Biafrans, who were distributing flyers in the streets of Onitsha encountered a roadblock by men of the Nigerian Police and Army.

According to an eyewitness, who narrowly escaped death, the Biafrans were shot as they approached a roadblock mounted by the security men at the Onitsha Head Bridge.

"We were going through Onitsha streets evangelising and sharing flyers when we encountered the police and some military men at the Onitsha Head Bridge.

"The policemen asked us not to cross. As we made to ask them why they were stopping us, one of the navy men with them opened fire at us. His first shot struck one of us passing through his chest and he died on the spot. The second shot hit another of us at the stomach and he also died.

"We pressed ahead to ask why they were shooting us as we have committed no crime or carrying arms, that was when the police opened fire at us. Firing recklessly and were realised they want to kill of us.

"So we started running and they continued to shoot at us as they pursued us.

"Over 30 of us were severally wounded with bullets piercing various parts of our bodies.

"As these went on the DPO cautioned them not to shoot at us that we were unarmed and one of them said the order to shoot us was from above.

"Many of us are still lying critically wounded at the hospital."

The Biafran gathered that another person has died at the hospital increasing the fatality to three.
Expectedly, the leaders of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) have spoke out against the unwarranted murder of Biafrans.

Many of the leaders who spoke through Radio Biafra, queried why Nigerian security forces were bent on killing unarmed civilians. The stated that General Muhamadu Buhari has crossed the red line with the Onitsha Masacre. While vowing to retaliate the attacks, they wondered why people should be killed for asking to free from oppression and injustice.

"There is no place in the world where people are killed for asking for their independence. In Britain and Spain, Scotland and Catalonia respectively are openly canvassing for independence without any of them getting harassed or shot at. Why should the Nigerian government continue to kill Biafrans."

The stated that Buhari is forcing Biafrans to take up arms with such unjustifiable killings as Biafrans have right to both self determination and self defence.

In his reaction the leader of the IPOB and Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu has vowed to retaliate the deaths of the innocent civilians in equal measure.

"To those that were slain today for being #Biafrans your death marks the beginning of the end of the zoo. Chukwu Okike Abhiama is our witness."
