| Buhari begins crackdown on free speech: Security agents combing Eastern Nigeria for Radio Biafra broadcasters |
Buhari, in his usual tyrannical manner does not want the world to hear about the monumental injustices Biafrans have suffered under Nigeria. He has unleashed his bloodhounds to go after Biafrans.
Nigeria security firces also yesterday tried to disrupt a peaceful IPOB meeting in Enugu.
Sunday Tribune reports that Nigeria's security agents are currently combing the entire Eastern Nigeria to track down the source of Radio Biafra broadcasts and possibly apprehend all those behind the station.The Nigeria National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) last week described Radio Biafra, the only voice speaking for Biafrans, as a pirate radio station and accused it of transmitting seditious and divisive content, contrary to the provisions of the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and the law.
However, Awwalu Salihu, the director in charge of public affairs at the NBC urged citizens to ignore the inflammatory content of the broadcasts and continue to work towards a strong, united and prosperous nation.
He said, “The National Broadcasting Commission, NBC, has become aware of a pirate radio station transmitting seditious and divisive content contrary to the provisions of the Nigerian Broadcasting Code and the law.
“The Commission wishes to assure the public that it is working in conjunction with security forces to track the source of the broadcasts and possibly apprehend all those behind the station.
“The Commission further urges Nigerians to ignore the inflammatory content of the broadcasts and continue to work towards a strong, united and prosperous nation,” he said.
The Radio Biafra registered in the United Kingdom airs on satellite, internet (tunein - http://tunein.com/radio/Radio-Biafra-s225376/, http://radiobiafra.co/, etc) and several terrestrial channels dubbed CHK, which includes CHK104.7 FM CHK 97.6 etc. It therefore reaches out to the entire world and especially Biafrans all over the world.
The radio allows people to express their candied opinions about the fraud and illegality of Nigeria as well as criticism of corrupt Nigerian governments including Muhammadu Buhari. Many news pertaining to Biafrans which Nigeria mainstream media blacklisted have been broken on Radio Biafra.

There is no law in part of the world including Nigeria that prohibits peple from expressing their minds and voicing out their anger. People are equaly free to demand for their freedom and seek self determination as has been demonstrated in the United Kingdom, Falklands and Spain to mention but a few.
