It is very significant that the first international visit Muhammadu Buahri made was to Britain, which created and colonised Nigeria for years!

Soon after receiving report of the state of the nation from his transition Committee, Nigeria's Muhammadu Buhari sneaked out of the country, only to be found smiling with David Cameron, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom on the doorstep of Number 10 Downing Street.

No doubt he went with the Transition Committee report to discuss it with Mr Cameron. He also went probably to re-enact the old pact between the Mohammedian Emirates of the Northern Nigeria and Britain.

Meanwhile gullible Nigerian mainstream media are having a feast and gloating over this as their fate is sealed in far away Europe!

What is so important that couldn't wait until after his swearing in? The issue to discuss must be too grave that Buhari abandoned his inauguration ceremony and ran to Britain to get his initial brief.

Was that what deluded Nigerian's voted for? Perhaps that was the CHNAGE - A puppet president?

Nigerians have at last handed Nigeria back to Britain.

Done deal
The UK government came out with the following press release after the meeting:

Prime Minister David Cameron met with President-elect Buhari of Nigeria and discussed the challenges facing Nigeria.

A Downing Street spokesperson said:

The Prime Minister welcomed President-elect Buhari of Nigeria to Downing Street this morning. Both leaders congratulated each other on their recent election victories and discussed the challenges facing Nigeria. The Prime Minister stressed the UK’s wish to work for a stable, prosperous and secure Nigeria. The leaders discussed security in the region and the fight against terrorism, particularly the threat posed by Boko Haram. They discussed the need for a regional approach and agreed to continue working together to build the capacity of the Nigerian army, with the UK continuing to provide military training and intelligence support.

On tackling corruption, they agreed this was a priority to ensure Nigeria’s prosperity and success. The Prime Minister agreed to look at what technical assistance and support the UK could provide to the Nigerian government as it looks to undertake its reforms.

Buhari at lost?
They also discussed the need to tackle organised crime and the links between the UK and Nigeria.

Finally, they talked about the challenges posed by migration from Africa to Europe and the President-elect said he would do all he could to secure Nigeria’s borders.
