Two powerful earthquakes and two volcanic eruptions have hit various parts of the world. A powerful earthquake has rocked Nepal, wrecking buildings, killing over 100 people and injuring others amidst destruction of properties.

Barely 24 hours earlier, another powerful earthquake struck New Zealand. The 5.9-magnitude earthquake shook New Zealand, panicking shoppers but prompting no reports of any major damage.
The quake struck at 3:36pm local time (03:36 GMT) on Friday, with its epicentre about 66km from the South Island town of Kaikoura at a depth of 55km, the US Geological Survey said.
The Nepal quake measured 7.9 and struck an area between the capital Kathmandu and the city of Pokhara, the US Geological Survey said. Tremors were felt across the region, as far afield as Pakistan, Bangladesh and neighbouring India. A Nepali minister said there had been "massive damage" at the epicentre.
"We need support from the various international agencies which are more knowledgeable and equipped to handle the kind of emergency we face now," Information Minister Minendra Rijal.
Up to 108 deaths have been recorded in the earthquake.
Several buildings, including the landmark Dharahara tower, were reduced to rubble in Kathmandu. The tower was turned into a stump, with several feared dead among its ruins.
Injured people have been brought to the main hospital. Reuters news agency put the initial death toll at four, including casualties at the tower.

The two earthquakes followed a twin volcanic eruptions in Chile. Two eruptions blasted from Chile's Calbuco volcano for the first time in more than 42 years. Calbuco erupted twice this week -- once on Wednesday and again on Thursday -- and Chile's national geology and mining service also warned people to prepare for a possible third and "even more aggressive eruption."
Around 4,000 residents in nearby towns were forced to evacuate due to raining ash blanketing their neighborhoods.
This week was the first time the volcano has erupted since 1973, officials said.
Over 2000 earthquakes have been recorded around the world since the beginning of the year.
