| Gowon to deliver lecture at Ojukwu varsity: Height of insult to dead Biafrans and Ojukwu |
I can feel the children starved to death by Yakubu Gowon, turning in their graves and heaping curses on the present generation of Igbos who have chosen to become so stupid and daft. I see dead Biafran soldiers, who rose to the call to save their people and fatherland from the murderous marauders and vampires unleashed on Biafra by Yakubu Gowon, shedding tears of blood at the stupidity of present day Igbo people.
The stupidity of an average Igbo man in Nigeria politics is mind boggling!
How could one explain the rationale behind inviting Yakubu Gowon, a war criminal to deliver a lecture on Biafran-Nigerian War experience at the Odimegwu Ojukwu University.
This is the height of insult to every Biafran living and dead. Could one ever imagine Ben Gurion University inviting Adolf Hitler or even Heinrich Himmler to deliver a lecture on the Holocaust?
This is exactly what Prof. Fidelis Okafor, the Vice-Chancellor of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, formerly Anambra State University is planning to do.

Former Nigerian military dictator, Gen. Yakubu Gowon (rtd), under whose junta over 3 million Biafrans were killed will on March 25 deliver a lecture at the 6th convocation ceremony of the Ojukwu University - if Biafrans don't rise up to the occasion.
This was announced by the Vice-Chancellor of the university at a news conference held at the Igbariam campus of the university,. Prof Okafor said that Gowon would deliver a lecture on the topic: `No Victor, No Vanquished: Healing the Nigerian Nation`. Prof Okafor stated: “Some 45 years ago at the end of the Civil War, Gowon made an epoch-making speech and he is going to speak on that. It is also an opportunity for this General to come to a university named after his rival during the war. Gowon has never made any public statement on the event of between 1967 and 1970. I think also that he wishes to use the opportunity to speak to the Igbo people before he exits from this earth."
Can you beat this? A professor? What could Gowon possibly tell Igbos/Biafrans he snuffed out their lives? What could he say to justify his involvement in the assassination of Aguiyi Ironsi, who so much trusted him even above Igbo military officers? What could he possibly tell Igbos to justify his complicity in the massacre of Igbo military officers and civilians in the northern part of Nigeria soon after he took over power from Ironsi? How could he face the same people he gave just £20 to start of live after a devastating war? This invitation of Gowon to the university is highly insensitive of the feelings of Biafrans living and dead.

To add salt to injury, the Vice Chancellor is also inviting the Senate president David Mark, who he is going to confer honorary doctorate degree alongside late Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu (post-humous).
According to him, Mark, Ojukwu and Gowon were special military men, who distinguished themselves in the history of Nigeria. This clearly demonstrates that Professor Okafor is mentally deranged and bereft of history. Or perhaps he does not know that it was David Mark who sat as the head of the Abandoned Property Tribunal that robbed Igbos of their landed properties in Rivers State.
The Indigenous people of Biafra must rise up to this challenge and stop Gowon and Professor Okafor on their tracks. The university should at least be picketed and Gowon stopped from gaining entry into the university.
His Excellency, Dim Ojukwu, would never have condoned this insolent behaviour from someone supposed to be learned. The university is rather renamed Ukpabia Asika or Emmanuel Ifeajuna, than allow Ojukwu's name to be trampled upon by Gowon.
Ndi Anambra should mobilise en masse and stop this nonsense!
