Biafrans are mobilising to stop Yakubu Gowon from delivering convocation lecture at the Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu Univeristy, in Anambra State.
The Biafran Reformist Movement (BRM), a group seeking for the freedom of Biafra from Nigeria resolved in their meeting earlier today to mobilise millions of Biafrans to protest against the inviatation extended to Gowon by the university on the Convocation day.
Speaking to newsmen after their meeting in Enugu, the Secretary-General of the BRM, Dr Chinemeze Odoziani, stated that invitation of Gowon to Ojukwu's University was the height of insult to Biafrans. He warned Gowon to steer clear of the event in his own interest as the BRM may not be able to contain the anger of Biafran youths are poised to make sure Gowon or his representative are not allowed entry or given audience at the occasion.
According to him: "We were in shock to receive the news that the War Criminal Yakubu Gowon has been invited to deliver a lecture about the Biafra-Nigeria War at our late leaders university. At first we thought it was a joke, but our investigations revealed that the Vice Chancellor Prof Okafor, is set to confer on Gowon an honorary doctorate university at a university named after his adversary. What is Gowon coming to do in Ojukwu University? Is he that insensitive to the plight of millions of Biafrans his government killed? If he has forgotten soon, BRM is here to tell him that the wound has not healed. We have long memory and will pay back our enemies in due course.
"Gowon is a war criminal in our books, and should be treated as such. If he loves his live, he shouldn't set his foot in to that university. The Biafran Reformist Movement may not be able to contain the anger in our men. Maybe God is about to deliver our enemy into our hands as he delivered Goliath into the hands of David.
"I am not at liberty to disclose all to you. But do know we have put the necessary machinery in place to barricade the university at the minimum. Gowon should be warned to steer clear of Biafra - a land he left in ruins.

Meanwhile, The Biafra gathered that other Biafran Nationalists movement are mobilizing against Gowon's invitation. The invitation of Gowon to Ojukwu Univeristy is viewed by the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) as Gowon coming to dance on Ojukwu's grave. The IPOB are setting things in place to give Gowon a rousing 'welcome' into Biafra.
