IT IS BIAFRA NOW OR PERPETUAL SLAVERY - Innocent Odenigbo

Innocent Odenigbo
Fellow Biafrans
It is with heavy heart filled with disappointment that I am speaking to you today. Recent developments within the Biafran family do not give me cause for joy or happy anticipation. We have heard of coup attempts by individuals whom we all respected until now, we have witnessed careless talk on video, we have also seen unguarded statements posted on Facebook. Clearly, the intention of the individuals behind these acts of indiscipline is to derail our march towards the restoration of Biafra.
Why?

Any Biafran proud of his or her origins cannot engage in these follies at this critical time. I like to ask you a number of questions.
Do you understand that Biafra was forced into Nigeria in 1914 by Frederick Luggard working for the British Government? And that no human being can create a nation?
Do you understand that Biafra has been the economic engine of the contraption called Nigeria? And that despite that, Biafrans are treated as third class citizens?
Do you understand that since 1960 there has not been any meaningful federal infrastructure in Biafra?
Do you understand that in 1945, 1953 and 1966 hundreds of thousands of Biafrans were massacred in Nigeria just because they were Biafrans?
Do you understand that when it was clear that Biafrans were no longer wanted in Nigeria, our leader General Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu declared the Republic of Biafra on May 30, 1967?
Do you understand that instead of allowing Biafrans to nurse their wounds in the safety of their homeland, Nigeria with the active collaboration of Britain declared a war of extermination on Biafrans?
Do you understand that by January 1970 Nigeria had bombed and starved over four million Biafran men, women, and children out of existence?
Do you understand that since the end of that war there has not been any effort on the part of the federal Government of Nigeria to reconstruct Biafra even though more than 90% of the country’s resources derive from Biafra?
Do you understand that because of the paucity of development projects in Biafraland, our people today live in abject poverty which leaves them exposed to corrupt influences by politicians and others?
Do you understand that up till today the killing of Biafrans continues on a daily basis in Nigeria?
Do you understand that according to the amalgamation document, Nigeria ended on the 31st of December, 2013?
If you answered yes to these questions, as I know you would, why would you ever contemplate to derail our quest for freedom to live our lives as we choose as Biafrans?

Nnamdi Kanu, Director of Radio Biafra with Professor Innocent Odengbo
during a sensitization visit to the United States
Two major accusations have been levelled against the leadership of the Biafran struggle. The first is misappropriation of funds, and the second is that Nnamdi Kanu flirts with women. On misappropriation of funds I like to ask how much money do we have? We do not have money, so how can you misappropriate what is not there. I listen to the honorable Mrs. Nnennaya in Germany who is now in charge of our finances and from her reports you will see that Biafrans are not really contributing meaningfully to the struggle. So what has Nnamdi Kanu misappropriated?
The charge of flirting with women against our leader, Dr. Nnamdi Kanu, is false and is intended to defame an honest young man. Nnamdi Kanu is a handsome powerful young man. Many women will be clustering around him. It does not mean that he goes to bed with all of them. Women go after powerful people like Nnamdi Kanu; it is only natural. It is for Nnamdi to apply common sense in handling the situation. I am convinced that Nnamdi Kanu is capable of handling the situation.
Having said this, I would like Biafrans to fix their eyes on the ball: that is the restoration of the Republic of Biafra. This is paramount. Every other thing is gossip and triviality which we cannot entertain at the moment. In this struggle, Biafrans should place absolute confidence in their leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, Director of Radio Biafra and Commander-in-Chief of the Biafran Defence Forces.
Millions of our heroes past and present will not forgive us if we fail to restore Biafra. It is Biafra now or perpetual slavery.
Thank you.
