Ignominous exit: Jonathan, governors and others shun Adenkunle's burial

Ignominy: Jonathan, governors and others shun Adenkunle's burial
Benjamin Adenkunle was one of the prominent monsters of the first Biafra-Nigerian war.He killed children, war prisoners, and even went to hospitals to drag and execute patients, in so far as they were Igbos.

His notoriety during the war earned him the uncomfortable state of a pariah in the Nigerian military quarters and consequently led to his forced retirement. His colleagues avoided him like plague.

The curse of innocent Biafran civilians who died in his hands has followed him in death. Just as he was avoided in life, he has also been avoided in death. Prominent Nigerians including the President of Nigeria, who do not want their political images to been tarnished by associating with such a murderous war criminal shunned his burial ceremony  held on Friday at the Tafawa Belewa Square in Lagos. Prominent colleagues of Adenkunle including the then Head of State, Yakubu Gowon, T.Y. Danjuma, and his kinsmen Olusegun Obasanjo stayed away from the burial.

All governors of the South West except Governor Babatunde Fashola of Lagos State shunned Adenkunle's burial.
