The Imo State governor, Rochas Okorocha has again shunned a meeting of all governors in the South East geopolitical zone of Nigeria. The Governors in the South East zone met in Enugu on Tuesday to discuss issues of common interest.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the meeting, which lasted for seven hours, ended without a communiqué.
The meeting, which held at the Governor’s Lodge in Enugu, was attended by the former governor of Anambra State, Peter Obi, Theodore Orji of Abia, Martin Elechi of Ebonyi, and the host, Sullivan Chime of Enugu.
The Governor-elect of Anambra, Mr Willie Obiano, was also present. Gov. Rochas Okorocha of Imo has persistently been absent from Igbo governors' meeting since he joined the Hausa-Fulani/Yoruba All progressives Congress (APC).
NAN reports that the governors dashed out in their cars without uttering a word to journalists.
A source close to the governors said they discussed and disagreed with issues concerning the forthcoming national conference.
The source also said the forum would announce a replacement of Gov. Obi as the Chairman as he bows out in March.
